Golf has been played at Burntisland since 1797 - historians suggest 1688! Burntisland is officially recognised as the 10th oldest club in the world. First surveyed by Old Tom Morris, the Dodhead parkland layout of 1896 was designed by Willie Park Jnr, twice Open champion, and updated by James Braid in 1922. Although not long, its generous fairways, lush grass and links type greens offer the visitor many different challenges and tests of shotmaking to score well - and fun too for golfers of all abilities! Overlooking the historic holiday town of Burntisland, the views over the Firth of Forth and towards the famous Forth Bridges are truly stunning. Edinburgh Castle is visible from the aesthetic 8th hole. Come and enjoy Dodhead and the Willie Park experience - his only course in Fife - you will be glad you did!

Played Burntisland as the last round of a 5 course trip in the area. Thought this was the best we played as the greens were fast and true, plenty of interesting holes and the views from the higher parts of the course were amazing. On top of this the Pro was friendly and helpful, and the food and refreshments were great. Has to be said its a course that needs playing again as there are one or two blind holes, something I will definitely be doing next time I am up in Fife–Simon Chapman

We , a group of Dutch and German golfers played this course on our annual golftrip. It came to be the greatest surprise on our trip. Magnificent views, great golf holes, good fairways and greens make this a small gem. Pro and staff being very welcoming this is a great course to play. Next time we go to Schotland we will certainly play Burntisland again.

Fantastic course with amazing views over the river forth. every hole is different with a mixture of woodland and links style golf long and short par 4 and tricky par 3 holes. and a beautiful club house to finish your day. –Scott Cunningham
